Stephen W. Sullens is a Senior Managing Director of The Blackstone Group and Head of Portfolio Management for Blackstone's Hedge Fund Solutions group.  Before joining Blackstone in 2001, Steve was a Director with Citi Alternative Investment Strategies, Citigroup’s hedge fund investment center.   Previously, he was Manager of Alternative Investments for The Walt Disney Company.  Prior to his six years at Disney, he was an analyst with Trammell Crow Ventures, a real estate investment advisory firm.

Steve currently serves on the Advisory Council of Stanford University's Bill Lane Center for the American West, following six years on the National Advisory Board of Stanford's Haas Center for Public Service.  He is a Board Member of the Americana Music Foundation as well as a Founders Advisory Board member for BerkleeNYC, Berklee College of Music’s New York campus partnership.  Steve is also a current Council Member and former Board Member of the Maine Coast Heritage Trust and is as a Trustee of the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine, where he chairs the Investment Committee.

He received an MS in Industrial Engineering and a BA in Economics from Stanford University.  At Stanford he also played football and was a three-year varsity letterman.  Steve lives in New York City with his wife Allison and three children—Lucinda, Millicent and Stephen.
