Thomas D. Dee II Graduate Fellowship

The Thomas D. Dee II Graduate Fellowship offers support for three academic quarters for a doctoral student from Stanford's School of Humanities & Sciences conducting dissertation research on the American West (please see the Center's definition of the American West). Preference will be given to students who plan to complete their degree by the end of the fellowship year.

The fellowship offers tuition support at the TGR rate and a stipend for three academic quarters. The amount of the stipend will be determined in accordance with university policy. The Center will also cover up to $2000 in research expenses. The award is not deferrable to future years or to the summer quarter.

Dee Fellows will also be part of a cross-disciplinary community of scholars with an interest in the American West. Fellows are expected to participate in Center activities during their fellowship year, such as by attending and presenting in our American West seminar series and other events organized by the Center.
